MOA Galleria - Mall Coming Soon!
From the Monroe County Library's photo caption:
"An urban renewal sign in the village of East Rochster. The sign announces the coming of the East Rochester Village Mall and lists several types of businesses that would be tenants in the new building on Main Street. The mall opened in the summer of 1974. Its name became the Techniplex Mall in 1983."More East Rochester Village Mall: 1

What an interesting historical photo! Where did you find this Keith? Is this a postcard? Or just a regular photo?
It's a photograph (not a postcard) courtesy of the Monroe County Library image archives. Glad you liked it Didi! I found it quite fascinating my own self. :)
I want to go to A&P WEO right now. I had totally forgotten about that - I am right back in 1974 at this moment, and it's a GOOD thing! Thanks for posting..
I love signs like this. Reminds me of some I've seen in the past. Now really, doesn't this mall have everything anyone would need? Tie store, liquor, bank, candy. Everything!

For the record, Neisner Bros. was a five and dime á la Woolworth.
This is off the topic of this post, but I just discovered the blog and I could sit here for ours looking at all the photos and videos. I searched the archives and found several post of Omaha, Nebraska malls and have a request that I pray someone can fulfill :-) I grew up in South Omaha and have been trying to find pictures of the Southroads Mall (just south of Omaha). So many of my best memories growing up in the 70s were of that mall. TIA !
What happened to Nesiner's?
Neisner's was acquired by Ames in 1978.
