Anaheim Center ad (Anaheim Plaza)

Anaheim, California - 1965

Even though this vintage ad says Anaheim Center, I'm assuming (judging by the store lineup and location anyway) that it's still the Anaheim Plaza (as we knew it in more recent years), just going by a slightly different name. Or was it originally called Anaheim Center? Not sure.

This great image was provided by, Dan Goodsell, of Tick Tock Toys. Thanks again, Dan! :)

Wow! Thank you for posting that interesting bit. It has always been Anaheim Plaza. I worked there in the 80s and managed to get engaged to two of the guys I worked with LOL! On a clear day you could see downtown LA from the roof top. Do not ask me what I was doing on the roof!

The Anaheim Plaza was #2, next to the #1, the Buena Park Mall. The A-Plaza was a teens delight back in the 60's, except for The Broadway Store, where it was considered too pricey for teens (our mothers shopped there for Christmas and hosiery). It was a very nice plaza, and it's too bad it went into such disarray, way before it's time! Sad to see that go by the wayside. It was a great place to shop, meet boys and just enjoy!

wonderful post. great memories from The Anaheim Plaza. lived between brookhurst & euclid ave. attended John Marshall School, Anaheim High School & Savanna High. best stores needless to say were Robinsons, Broadway & Mervyn's. other notable stores inside this awesome shopping center were GAP, MUSICLAND, EARTHCRAFT STORES (they sold the rainbow velcro-wallets) - SEE'S CANDIES, JUDY'S, B. DALTON BOOKS, HALLMARK/STATIONERS, SUNGLASS HUT, FOOTLOCKER, FLORSHEIM SHOES, CARL'S JR ....and the list goes on. we always walked thru the plaza on our way home from school. the smell alone. sweet memories. THANKS!

It was actually named the Anaheim Center when it originally opened back in 1954. It didn’t get its current “Anaheim Plaza” name until 1974, when it underwent a 4 million dollar renovation.

I was a store manager to one of the EarthCraft stores in Puente Hills and also worked at the EarthCraft store in Riverside and Montclair.
