Retro Mall Video - French shopping center 1980
France - 1980
Here's another very zany but swanky French TV commercial shot inside a ritzy looking shopping mall somewhere in France. (Paris? Probably.) This one, a 1980 TV commercial for Miko Ice Cream. Um, enjoy! :)

Neat! Reminds me of those 1960s/1970s Louis de Funes comedy flicks which were a staple of Saturday afternoon television when I was a kid.
Never heard of Miko ice cream, even though they are supposedly the "number one quality" in France.
Perhaps Miko went the way of dying in dignity. Never heard of them either.
Funny commercial though.
Miko seems to be owned by the mammoth Unilever company, which also owns the famliar Good Humor, Ben & Jerry's and Bryer's Ice Cream brands here.

Based on a glimpse of the letters "Concorde La Fayette", I suspect that the mall featured in the clip is the shopping concourse of this Parisian Hotel, built in 1974.
As for Miko ice cream, I suspect that it is sold in Germany under a different name, as the products look a lot like the ice cream cones and popsicles of my childhood. And of course, it's sold in cinemas.
Sigh! When did a popcorn stand in the foyer start replacing the cinema ice cream lady, annoying as she may have been?
