Macy's at Hillsdale Shopping Center

San Mateo, California - circa 1950s

Hillsdale Shopping Center, in the "heart of the peninsula", in San Mateo, California. This keen vintage postcard image is a keeper I'd say! The Macy's store entrance, as well as the shopping center's beautiful sign, are both visible nicely here in one handy, very pretty, shot--that I'd love to step right the heck into.

If you're new here, don't forget to check out my "Shopping Can Be Fun" Hillsdale video, too!

Well, Keith, you can step the heck into that Macy's now :)
There's now a parking garage in front of that entrance, and some of the windows and entrance doors shown in the photo have since been sealed off. But the outside of the building and much of the inside still look the same as before.

Hello, I would like to find a photo of the Macy's New York store window at Easter in the 1960s. My family in Bermuda grew the Easter lilies that were used in the displays. I am at a loss as to where to start looking for such a thing. Any ideas?
