Retro Mall Video - Shoplifting
Vintage Sid Davis anti-shoplifting educational film from 1975. I find this of some weird interest--especially for the gloomy scenes shot inside some dreary old department stores. If you can stand it till the end, there's some neat footage of old merchandise, displays, and murky retail interiors contained in this 11 minute film--you can even hear a little vintage '70s Muzak droning in the background if you listen closely, which I really dig as well!

Transport me back to the 70s! ANy idea on where this takes place?
Haha, I really enjoyed watching this, thanks for sharing! =3
If I recall correctly, the opening credits said something like "Produced with the cooperation of the Inglewood Police Department" -- so Inglewood, Calif. is probably where the film was shot. I noticed a Woolworth's sign clearly visible in the background as they put the young boy in the front seat of the police cruiser... anyone familiar with L.A. County who can tell us where this might have been and what's there now?
I have my doubts as to whether Woolworth would have actually employed an undercover security guard, however... a lot of Made in Hong Kong junk must have gone out the door before it would have justified paying for security!
Glenda Jackson was a shoplifter?!http://imdb.com/name/nm0413559/
One of the "muzak" songs being played in the background is a library track called "Bluebird" which I featured on one of my compilations; "Space Age Lounge Volume 2 - Red Carpet Ride". You can grab it and all my other compilations from my site.
Oh, cool clip by the way, thanks for sharing!
