Palm Beach Mall

West Palm Beach, Florida - 1969

Though I find no mention online about this, I believe Palm Beach Mall may have originally been called "The Future Center", very early on when it first opened. At any rate, here's a nice aerial shot of the mall and surrounding environs--including the West Palm Beach Arena to the East, in the lower-right corner. And all that barren, open land there just beyond the mall to the West is now the Bear Lakes Country Club Golf Course. The changes to the area today are quite evident in the aerial view I link to below (zoom it out for some great views!).

The Witness's tore down the ball stadium just to the south of the Auditorium(they shared the same parking lot). A boss of mine lived in an apartment complex just north of the mall in the early 80's. It was a swinging place. The golf course just to the south of the mall was the Palm Beach Lakes Executive Golf Course, I played it a lot when I was a kid, now it is 2 apartment complexes.
