Palm Beach Mall

West Palm Beach, Florida - 1968

Here's Palm Beach Mall's current "Simonized" website, which means there isn't a whole lot to see there, just another generic Simon-owned mall info page.

When I was a kid, the palm beach mall was one of my favorite places to go. It had really fabulious architecture and one of the department stores had a cool post-modern industrial feel to it. For a long time I thought that the mall was going to die but it appears that is has been blandified and brought back. My favorite part was that the second floor of burdines shook when you walked and that is where they had the crystal. it was a really cool experience.

A very interesting fountain :o Too bad it's not there anymore. It was replaced by a large Spanish fountain.

The Palm Beach Mall is still alive and still very popular. Though there's little evidence of it's old self, the mall still has great Addison Mizner-like architecture.

WE lived in Ft.Lauderdale late 60's to mid 70's my parents would take us kids to this mall every couple weeks they liked to eat at the cafeteria, I always liked to visit the J.C.Penney's auto center which was out in the parking lot and dream of owning a Benelli minibike that they sold. Haven't been there in years.
