Waterloo, Iowa - circa early '70s Four vintage seventies photos of the Crossroads Center mall on one postcard, with exterior views of Sears, JCPenney, and Osco Drug all visible here, as well as a couple really groovy interior mall shots, too!
Some of Crossroads Center mall's current anchors and stores include Dillard's, Gordmans, the aforementioned JCPenney and Sears, Old Navy, and Younkers.

I thought for a second that your post was about the Crossroads Mall in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was formerly known as Laffeyette Plaza and at the end it was called Hi Ho Center. It is now the location of Housatonic Connunity College. Most of the bones of the old mall are still there.

I think we have another spammer here.
ReplyDeleteCrazy RPG nuts. Now you guys know why I'm not into those massively-multiplayer-online deals. (I'll just take the stand-alone single-player kind, thank-you-very-much. :) )
ReplyDeleteHe had a Gaia bump bot too on there. I'm part of that community/site, and their ToS clearly states 'No botting', and that person was clearly doing it.
Meh, whatever! Just so you guys know, these are just loser kids who have no respect. Just ignore them. Keith'll handle it. :)
Anyways, back to this picture...which is more vintage mall goodness here. It looks like a really compact mall. Sears and JCPenney were very common 'major' anchors (always a treat to see thos old logos they used), and Osco was somewhat a major pharmacy chain in the Upper Midwest.
I am just not used to seeing spam on here considering Keith usually deletes them right away. So I was a bit surprised when i saw that.
ReplyDeleteYep, normally the spam is gone VERY quickly (as long as I'm not sleeping), only reason this one slipped by me for so long, is that Blogger suddenly isn't sending me my usual comment notifications via e-mail for some reason, so I didn't know there were any new messages today! Until I went and looked (cuz it seemed rather odd). I'm looking into the problem.

Uh, guilty here on the MMOs. I'm an avid GUILD WARS player :D (Though generally shooters are more my taste like COUNTER-STRIKE and BATTLEFIELD 2)
Anyway, thanks for the comments guys!
Keith: No offense meant. I too am into RPGs. Just never had experience with the online kind mostly because I'm still on a dial-up connection. Not all players are crazy spammers. (Heck, I'm part of Gaia, and I do have quite a few single-players spanning consoles going back to the old 8-bit NES) My bad.
ReplyDeleteAvid game 'and' vintage mall fanatic, you could say. :)
