Mayfair Mall

Wauwatosa, Wisconsin - 1959

Great exterior shot of the Marshall Fields entrance at Mayfair, along with those glorious old cars sitting in the parking lot! Here's the mall's current website.

  2. I'm not sure I understand your question.

  3. I believe all of the brick work on the corner is still there, but, otherwise, the Marshall Fields has an entirely new fascade.

  4. Anonymous -- are you referring to the lannon stone on the corner section of the building?

Like e said, they've revamped the mall's facade, but if I remember correctly, it was only Fields that looked like that.

At any rate, it'll be a Saks soon.

And I think it's amusing that you've had two posts about Mayfair and they're both shots of the Marshall Fields. There's a whole lot more mall to the place, and back in the day, there used to be an ice rink.

  5. Welp, I'd love to post more of it, Czeltic Girl, but the other shot you mentioned and this one, are simply the only two vintage pics I have of Mayfair at the moment. :) I'll definitely try to dig up more, though.

And actually, the shot in the other post was really a North Courtyard photo, not so much a "Fields" shot (which you can hardly even see in the pic anyway).

I'll look for some interior shots soon. That would be cool!

  6. True. . .I would love to see pictures of the ice rink! I remember the McDonalds there had windows that looked out to the rink. Now that I am thinking about it. . .the McDonalds was pretty crazy! There were all of these light fixtures made of deer antlers.
