  2. Belden Village Mall opened in 1970. That postcard is most likely from when the mall first opened. That's how I recall it had looked at that time. The pointy-looking sculpture is still present in its original spot.

I believe Belden Village had two interior makeovers, once in the 80's and another one just recently. When Belden first opened, it was known for its fountains and greenery. Unfortunately, some "suit" decided to get rid of the fountains long ago.

  3. The Sculpture on the right side of this photo is still there. Too bad the rest of the mall is a late 80's-early 90's gross mess. The fountains at this mall used to be awesome. I even remember there being a "pit" in the middle of one of the corridors that was rocky, and had tropical plants and waterfalls lit by colorful lights. Now, its flat and there are a few of those annoying cell phone kiosks that bark at you to check out their specials. Gross.

  4. Recently Westfeild did 2 things
    1. Sold the mall to Starwood Retail
    2. As a final decision, they tore this all out

    Lets hope Starwood is better.

  5. Westfields management was not all that good, when they bought it all they did was put up new signs and tore out the fountains, so far Starwood has added a new logo, repainted the mall, and relanscaped I think the mall is going to get better and there are less vacant storefronts now😀
