Winrock Shopping Center

I believe this is a photo from around the mall's opening in 1961 (and it looks like it). Winrock Mall has been dying a slow death for years now (even their website is dead), but it's currently in the midst of a major redevelopment makeover, with most of the stores closed (except the ones with seperate outside entrances), as the work gets underway for a grand re-opening in 2007.

Oh, and yes, they're morphing it into a "pedestrian-friendly" outdoor market center, to be called the Winrock MarketCenter (genius!). Taking the "mall" out of the Mall yet again, as is the De Facto reuse retail trend these days.
