Vintage Two Guys Discount Store TV commercial

Two Guys Discount Stores - 1977

Here's a retro 1977 Fall season TV commercial for Two Guys Discount Stores (watch the volume on this one). I especially dig the music and little jingle at the end. Yet another great commercial that's so typical and indicative of the kind of groovy retail spots many of us grew up on back in the good old days. It's definitely time for a Holiday Harvest of Value Sale at Two Guys! (thanks super8monster!)

I have fond memories of shopping at Two Guys as a kid. We had several in the Baltimore area - 'ours' was in Dundalk, MD. It's now broken into several stores, Ollies being the largest and several smaller stores not particularly notable.

The Towson, MD store is now a Shoppers Food Warehouse, Staples, and a Chuck E. Cheese.

Oy, Two Guys in Schenectady was where I bought my first 33 rpm LP. It was great to go to Two Guys. It was a short 2 miles and on the way to the post office.

Those prices haven't really changed all that much.

I mean, I'm assuming that you can still buy an iron for less than twenty bucks, right?

Yea, I think you can. I remember at Venture (and I think Kmart does this once in a while) you used to be able to buy an iron for ten bucks on some sales.

Yeah, cheap irons are $9.99. I was astonished at the very same thing!
