Levittown Shopping Center

Levittown, Pennsylvania - circa 1950s

During a promotional event at the shopping center, Children ride through the parking lot on an "elephant train"! This is why malls and shopping centers rocked in the good old days.

The pictures are awesome. On the first, I can't decide if I like the elephant or the Pomeroy's better. The second is great with the full-name Sears sign, which you hardly ever see pictures of.

Maybe a little off.... but wouldn't PETA go into cardiac arrest with the elephant thing.

The aerial shows the mall without a single car in the parking lot. Even though other businesses in the area do have cars in their lots. Is this mall open now?
Nonetheless, it's a clever design. Like a shopping center that didn't want to commit to being a mall.
I had a lot of fun with this one. It was great floating over Levittown in the aerial!

Oh never mind... found the other entry. It's too bad this is one for the history books, now. Another generic Home Depot. It's not America, it's Generica!
