I can just picture myself right now standing there. The smell of food coming from that Woolworth lunch counter to the right, and having downloaded that MIDI 'muzak' down a few posts, hear that very kind of thing piped through the ceiling speakers.
Ah yes, and what's that way down there at the end? I always thought those old "Penneys" (used from 1965-1971) signs looked much nicer than the current "JCPenney" (1971-present).
Thankfully I got to see it in person..abelt only at an old outdated mall in another nearby city (Sheboygan WI I believe, at their Memorial Mall), before that store closed down in 2001.
Ironically many folks call it "Penneys" anyways.
Too bad the mall is no more, as you have stated.
