Seattle, Washington - circa 1967Beautiful Northgate Mall in the 1960s (more commonly referred to as the Northgate Shopping Center in those days). In this great photo we see the famous totem pole that has greeted shoppers for many years. It's still there at the North Entrance if you'd like to go see it sometime. I posted another shot of it in this earlier Northgate entry.

Wow, I love that. Art in a mall is highly underrated. The fountain is beautiful, too.

Northgate is now a Simon property, badly remodeled. That totel pole and planter is still there, but the George Tsutakawa bronze fountains (three of them) were removed, current location sadly unknown, and the planter is now filled in with dirt.
