The Mall

Pontiac, Michigan - 1960's

Beautiful shot of a really striking entrance facade, along with a neat-o parking lot view... oh, and a Kresge kicker! :)

Let's zoom-in for some cool details...

  1. Do you think you'd know you were at "The Mall"?? lol This is too cool. The old cars make it all the better.

  3. Best mall signage ever! Helped obscure the debate as to why the Pontiac Mall was actually located in Waterford.. lol!

The side of the mall that faced Elizabeth Lake Road kept their little white "the Mall" over the entrance to Hudsons well into the 90s.

  4. In 1964-65 I had a co-op job from W.T.H.S. (THE high school in Wateford) working at Marianne's Clothing Store at the Mall, just a couple doors down from Kresges. The Mall was always packed with people.

  7. I love it. My Mom worked for Hudson's at the Pontiac Mall, in the basement, throughout my entire childhood so I had the run of the mall for years. I loved it. I do think the late 60's through the mid 70's was the best time for that place. I remember a lot of metal sculptures and the like everywhere, hanging from the ceilings etc. Seemed like there were many fountains there also. I would give a lot to go back in time and get a couple of sub's at Kresge's...
